Green Ivy was deliberately chosen to symbolize a combination of our vision, strategy and cultural values.
Growth
Ivy is known for its ability to grow, upwards, and to spread outwards. This is important, because making a bet on one path is highly risky, and there will be failures and blockers along the way. Hence, we make strategic bets – not on everything, but enough things.
Low Maintenance
Whether growing on the ground, on trees, up walls, or fences, Ivy can survive with minimal sun, and do not require much attention to grow and spread.
Resilience
Ivy is known for its resilience, and is typically evergreen, and thus able to survive all seasons. It can bounce back from being cut back, or its roots ripped out, and often returns thicker, fuller, and greener. Some species can gradually acclimatize and be more tolerant of sun and higher temperatures.
Bear Fruit
Ivy often bears berries that have very important nutritional value to certain species of birds and pollen for bees. More importantly, it can do so at times of the year when other flowers and fruits are scarcely available.
Aesthetics
Ivy’s primary use for people is to cover unsightly walls, fences and trees, creating a beautiful, lush environment that evokes emotions of peace and relaxation.
Diversity
Ivy is a generic name for a family of around 15 species of Ivy, that can be found in Europe, Africa, Asia and North America.
Versatility
Ivy is sometimes used in over the counter medication, and is also being explored for potentially anti tumor activity in various types of cancer.
Symbolism
Ivy has long been used in many historical contexts, ranging from use as symbols for love, friendship, and longevity.
